There is a huge range of things we can all do in our gardens or on other land holdings for our own benefit and for the benefit of others and wildlife. Planting for the benefit of Bees and song birds, creation of shelters for hedgehogs, etc. In wet areas that can't be drained the creation of a wetland with the appropriate planting can have spectacular results, visually and for wildlife. You may consider creating a wetland in a larger garden by diverting drainage into it, i.e. roof and driveway drain water. This will also help with S.U.D.S. ( sustainable urban drainage issues.) If you have a project that requires screen planting possibly as a requirement of a planning department we can help with this too. The Landscape Resource Centre are able to assist with micro forestry operations where larger timber operators and forest management companies may not be interested. Our forestry operations include the clearance of small areas of environmentally sensitive woodland by hand or with small scale machinery, to protect the environment, water catchments or ancient, scheduled monuments, we are able to help with windblown timber clearance resulting from storm damage, and other tree felling requirements, with qualified tree climbers aerial pruning work or sectional removal of trees is possible. Non Native Species, and invasive scrub species. The Landscape Resource Centre can carry out clearance and removal work and restocking with desirable species if neccessary. The spread of Phytophera Ramorum the fungal disease that is killing off Larch trees across Britain is now linked to the non native rhododendron species which act as a co-host for this fungus, If you have rhododendron invading your woodland we can help remove it. Also Gorse and Broom can be very competitive with young trees in plantations, Our fleet of compact tractors can work between young trees with flail mulchers to remove the scrub. For Landowners who wish to convert some of their own trees or lumber into firewood but who may not have the resources to do this themselves we have all it takes to do this safely and economically, from felling and extraction of trees in awkward places by winch to compact sized firewood processing equipment we have the micro forestry capability.
